Plains, ca. 61 BC (Alma 62:18) This is one of several suffixed names in the Book of Mormon (see also e.g., Cumeni/Cumenihah, Mathoni/Mathonihah, Moroni/Moronihah). For Nephi, see above. Reynolds, Story of the Book of Mormon, p. 299, based on reading -ihah as the theophoric element and neph as coming from some root meaning “consolation,” translates “Jehovah’s consolation.” Cf.
