Biblical gentilic 1. An ancient Near Eastern people (2 Nephi 19:12 = Isaiah 9:12)

Etymology

SYRIANS is the name of an ancient Near Eastern people mentioned once in the ISAIAH section of the Book of Mormon but not otherwise mentioned as a separate PN, GN, or Gentilic in the Book of Mormon. "SYRIANS" is the KJV equivalent of the Hebrew ʾărām in Isaiah 9:12.
