Etymology

This name seems to consist of two elements, see and zoram. The latter is known from other names, including the self-standing ZORAM, for which see the same below. The first element, see, could be related to the Hebrew independent demonstrative pronoun zeh, giving the possible meaning “the one of ZORAM.” Also possible, though unlikely because it would mix languages, is EGYPTIAN s3, prefix for “son” (JAT).

Unlikely is a derivation from the EGYPTIAN PN Zoser/Zeser (LID, 28) because the consonants do not correspond.

Cf. Book of Mormon ZORAM, ZEEZROM, CEZORAM, EZROM/EZRUM, ESROM, SEANTUM, et al.
