Nibley has suggested [[EGYPTIAN(S)|EGYPTIAN]] ''p3-ḥsy'', “he [DN] is praised” (LID, 30). '''PACHUS''' is much less likely to have anything to do with the [[EGYPTIAN(S)|EGYPTIAN]] PN ''hes'' or ''khesi'', “praised” (HWN).

Lehite PN 1. Rebel king, leader of the king-men, ca. 63 BC (Alma 62:6, 7, 8, 9 (x2))

This entry is not finished

Etymology

Nibley has suggested EGYPTIAN p3-ḥsy, “he [DN] is praised” (LID, 30). PACHUS is much less likely to have anything to do with the EGYPTIAN PN hes or khesi, “praised” (HWN).

Even less likely is a corruption of the Meriotic PN “Pakazi” (SC, p. 194). A long short is perhaps EGYPTIAN prkš, “house of Cush” (RFS, Egyptianisms, p. 6).
