Biblical GN 1. A location in the ancient Near East (2 Nephi 20:26 = Isaiah 10:26)

Etymology

OREB is the name of an ancient Near Eastern location mentioned once in the ISAIAH section of the Book of Mormon but not mentioned as a separate PN or GN in the Book of Mormon.

Cf. variant forms oreb (Septuagint); orebos (Josephus); and cf. Arab. cognate ghurab, "raven."
