Etymology

JEW(S) is the name of an ancient Near Eastern people originally descendants of JUDAH. "JEW" is generally the KJV equivalent of the Hebrew yehudi (HALOT 1994, 2:394). In the Book of Mormon, "JEW(S)" refer not just to descendants of JUDAH but also to those who lived in the Kingdom of JUDAH.
