Biblical GN 1. An ancient Near Eastern city, where the modern north SYRIAN city of Hama is located, south the ancient SYRIAN city of Antioch (the modern Turkish Antakia) (2 Nephi 20:9 = Isaiah 10:9; 2 Nephi 21:11 = Isaiah 11:11)

Etymology

HAMATH is the name of a city mentioned in the ISAIAH section of the Book of Mormon but is not mentioned as a separate PN or GN in the Book of Mormon.
