Biblical GN 1. A region just north of JUDEA in Palestine (2 Nephi 18:23, 19:1, Isaiah 8:23, 9:1)

Hebrew gālîl, gālîlâ, from the root gll “cylinder, rod, circularity” = EGYPTIAN krr, a place in Palestine in the conquest list of Thutmosis III in the 15th century BC.[1] Cf. Ugaritic GN gll-tky, galili-tukiya, uru gal-li-li-tu-ki-ya.
