Jaredite GN 1. Hill (Ether 14:28 (x2))

Etymology

No etymology is suggested.

As stated in the introduction, it is not productive to assign Semitic etymologies to JAREDITE names. Nevertheless, both kūm, to arise, and nūr, light, have been suggested, with the attendant meaning, “arise O light” (JAT).

Cf. Book of Mormon KIMNOR, COM, CUMORAH
