Biblical PN 1. King of JUDAH (2 Nephi 17:1, 3, 10, 12 = Isaiah 7:1, 3, 10, 12; 2 Nephi 24:28 = Isaiah 14:28)

Etymology

AHAZ is given in the ISAIAH section of the Book of Mormon as the name of an ISRAELITE king bit not as a PN in its own right.[1]

Variants

Deseret Alphabet: 𐐁𐐐𐐈𐐞 (eɪhæz)

Notes

  1. AHAZ may be a hypocoristic form of Ahazyahu, "the Lord grasped, laid hold of," itself of another ISRAELITE king.
