Biblical PN 1. First person(s) (1 Nephi 5:11; 2 Nephi 2:25, Mosiah 3:11-19, 26; Moroni 10:3)

This name appears in the Book of Mormon in connection with the biblical first person(s) in Genesis and is never given as a name to a Book of Mormon individual. (Footnote 1)

Footnote 1: It is from the Hebrew 'adam "human" (without the definate article), ha' adam, "humanity" (with the definite article), which is a collective and therefore never used in the plural; literaly, it means "mankind" (Köhler-Baumgartner). It is also related to the Hebrew 'adom, "red," and 'adamah, "earth; land" (Ibid., p.13) (RFS)
