Lehite gentilic 1. 4 Nephi 1:17

Etymology

The English gentilic ending "-ITES" reflects the common Semitic gentilic ending ī, which converts a substantive into an adjective. In the Book of Mormon it functions as a substantive in its own right in the Book of Mormon, 4 Nephi 1:17: "There were no robbers, nor murderers, neither were there Lamanites, nor any manner of -ites; but they were in one, children of Christ, and heirs to the kingdom of God."

Variants
