Cherubim / Cherabs / Cherabims - Variant Spelling

- Alma 12:21

1: Cherabs > Cherabims >js Cherabim

A: Cherubims

B: cherubims 1837 – 1911 RLDS 1908 1953R 1920: cherubim 1920 – 1981.

Discussion: Cherabs was corrected to Cherabims by Scribe 2 in 1, later Joseph Smith changed it to

Cherabim in 1. The 1830 typesetter set Cherubims in A, and Joseph Smith's change was not implemented until 1837. Cf. KJV cherubims (Genesis 3:24).

- Alma 42:2

0, A: Cherubims

1: Cherubims >js Cherubim

B: Cherubim 1837 – 1906 1911 1907: cherubim 1907 1920 1981 RLDS 1908 1953R

- Alma 42:3

1: Cherubims >js Cherubim

A: Cherubims

General Summary: Skousen agrees with double-plural cherubims only because that is the KJV usage
