Etymology
The biblical name JEREMIAH is from HEBREW ירמיהו yirmiyyāh(û) “YHWH exalts, or yarēmay, from the causative jussive 3rd sgl middle weak verb[1] = NT KJV Jeremias, Jeremy (Matthew 16:14; 27:9) = LXX Greek ieramei(m), “YHWH founded.”[1] The form that appears in the Book of Mormon is the English form of the Greek.
