Etymology
ISRAELITE is the gentilic of ISRAEL. The singular never occurs in the Book of Mormon, and the plural, ISRAELITES, only this once. Wherever the King James Bible has Israelites, that is the plural, the Masoretic text of the Old Testament has simply yiśrāʾēl, i.e., no plural, no gentilic, etc. For example see Joshua 3:17.
