Etymology
Although the etymologies of JAREDITE names are uncertain, one may compare the Hebrew verbal root qām in the qal 3 m.s. jussive with a suppressed name of deity, thus, yaqom[yahu or el], meaning "let No etymology is suggested. [the Lord or God] arise, rise up."
