Etymology

CHRIST is the English form of the Greek christos, "anointed," from the HEBREW mašīah of the same meaning. CHRIST refers to the mortal JESUS (2 Nephi 25:26) or to JESUS as the "Savior" or "Redeemer of the world". (Jacob 7:9)
