Perhaps related to the same root as the biblical PN LEAH, which some *dictionaries derive from lʾh, “to be weary, weak,” but which can also mean “to be strong, capable.” The name appears to be meaningful when one realizes that the LEAH was the smallest of the NEPHITE monetary measures (JAT).
