Etymology
No etymology is suggested.
If Sumerian can provide JAREDITE patterns, then perhaps the Sumerian PN kurum, king of Uruk (biblical Erech) Dynasty 4 might be a parallel (RFS). Sumerian kur means mountain.
Cf. Akkadian kurum III, โEin Stรผck von Stemmeโ or Sumerian kurum, kur, โcut, divide, judge, pass sentenceโ and kur, โgreat, mountain, landโ which appears in the name of the pilot of the ark in the Mesopotamian flood story, kurgal (RFS).
Cf. Book of Mormon CORIHOR, KORIHOR
- (RLDS has Corum in one place)
