Lehite noun | Gold currency, ca. 82 BC (Alma 11:5, 8–9) |
Possibly this noun could derive from the biblical seʾāh, a measure of grain (RFS; and Reynolds, Commentary on the Book of Mormon, 4:282).
Alternatively, this noun might derive from Late Egyptian sniw (JG) a unit of currency which during the New Kingdom in Egypt was worth about 5 deben (Janssen, Commodity Prices from the Ramessid Period, 102-8).
