Etymology
Nibley has suggested EGYPTIAN p3-แธฅsy, โhe [DN] is praisedโ (LID, 28). PACHUS is much less likely to have anything to do with the EGYPTIAN PN hes or khesi, โpraisedโ (HWN).
Even less likely is a corruption of the Meriotic PN โPakaziโ (SC, p. 194). A long short is perhaps EGYPTIAN prkลก, โhouse of Cushโ (RFS, Egyptianisms, p. 6).
Cf. Book of Mormon PAANCHI, PAHORAN, PAGAG (?)
