Etymology
Confer the biblical PN lΔmΕ«ΚΎel, LEMUEL, Proverbs 31:1, 4, meaning, possibly, "(belonging) to God," the mΕ« in lΔmΕ« an "inserted additional style" (KB 1958 483b). Note the Edomite PN in the text βThe Words of LEMUEL, King of Massa" (LID, 41-42 and ABM, 59). King of Massaβ (LID, 41β42 and ABM, 59).
Reynolds and Sjodahl (1:26) give the meaning βGodwardβ or βGod is bright.β
