Biblical GN 1. A country east of Southern Mesopotamia in what is now southwest Iran (2 Nephi 21:11 = Isaiah 11:11)

ELAM is the GN of an ancient Near East country mentioned in the Isaiah section of the Book of Mormon but is not mentioned as a separate PN or GN in the Book of Mormon. Generally it is equated with the people of the ancient Near East called Elamites.
