Etymology

SALEM is the name of an ancient Near Eastern city mentioned as being ruled over by MELCHIZEDEK (Genesis 14:18; Hebrews 7:1, 2; cf. Alma 13:17, 18) but is not mentioned as a separate PN or GN in the Book of Mormon.
