Perhaps the name can best be derived from Canaanite ''pa.ura'', ''pu.uru'' (for [[EGYPTIAN(S)|E<small>GYPTIAN</small>]] ''p3-ḥr-3n''), [[EGYPTIAN(S)|E<small>GYPTIAN</small>]] administrator in Palestine mentioned in the Amarna letters (EA, 117, 123, 
132, 1566, 1222). Nibley equates [[EGYPTIAN(S)|E<small>GYPTIAN</small>]] ''p3-ḥry'' with “the [[SYRIANS|S<small>YRIAN</small>]]” (ABM, 233), on which see [http://scriptures.lds.org/en/gen/14/6#6 Genesis 14:6] where  ''ḥōrī'' = Hurrian, i.e., [[SYRIANS|S<small>YRIAN</small>]] ([[Robert F.
