Discussion: Scribe 2 wrote Aminadi but immediately caught his error and changed it to Abinadi in [[Printer's Manuscript of the Book of Mormon.|P]]. It was the first time that Scribe 2 had to write Abinadi, so a mistake is not surprising.
Acceptability: Scribal error; Abinadi correct.

It may have read the same in [[Original Manuscript of the Book of Mormon.|O]], and "could have occurred if Joseph Smith pronounced the word with stress on the second syllable so that the third vowel would have been the unstressed schwa vowel" (''[[Royal Skousen, Analysis of Textual Variants in the Book of Mormon. 6 Parts.
